Change That Makes Sense

Over the years, I’ve heard many perspectives on the value of a Personal Trainer.

From a rep counter to someone that gets and puts your weights away.

I would say those things are included at times.

Additionally, I would say that we provide more than that. Such as; motivation, accountability, expertise, guidance. As well as emotional support. I would say that these are just a few of the attributes of a quality trainer. I believe that you can’t get your client to change physically until they change mentally.

I like to say, ‘To cause change you must get comfortable with being uncomfortable.’

I’d like to share a recent accomplishment one of my clients achieved that we celebrated.

This client is in their mid 70’s and they’ve never cooked for themselves. They’ve never bought a vegetable. They’ve never sliced or diced a vegetable. Safe to assume that they’ve never burned water!

After a month of encouraging them to purchase an electric wok, they did so.

Next, it only took them three months to open the box.

Using a marinade I created, every Friday this client enjoys that marinad on the prawns I grill for them.

I used their affinity for prawns to broach the idea of making a stir fry at home circling back to the wok.

Finally, after many conversations on how to go about using the wok, making  rice in a rice cooker, slicing and cooking the vegetables, and using the “Freaky” Friday prawns, my client achieved a few firsts.

For the first time they chopped and cooked vegetables. For the first time they made a very healthy meal for themselves.

This is the kind of achievement that can segway into other areas of their lives. This client has never worked out in their life, yet they knew they needed a lifestyle change. Recognized that they couldn’t do it on their own and asked for assistance. Today, we’ve gone places they never envisioned.

Success builds confidence.

Confidence equals growth.

Allow me to help you create that change you may be looking for in 2024!
